Project Type Plain-Language Microlearning
Primary Role Instructional Designer, Co-Script Writer & eLearning Developer
Audience Navigators, Legal-Aid Staff, and Community Organizations

Role & Responsibilities

I served as the Instructional Designer, Co-Script Writer, and eLearning Developer on a large cross-functional team that included policy experts, legal review, communications, and animation.

I implemented the instructional design and learning strategy, co-wrote the script, developed character names and profiles, and produced the storyboard.

The Challenge

Medicaid unwinding rules varied by state, and many notices were confusing. Front-line staff needed a shareable, consistent message they could deliver in appointments, workshops, and outreach events.

Common risk points included address changes that led to procedural terminations, notices that lacked required elements, long call-center waits and dropped calls, youth aging out of children’s coverage without guidance, and cases involving limited English proficiency without appropriate language access.

The Solution

I produced a six-to-seven-minute microlearning video organized around named characters and realistic situations.

The video shows how missed mail can cause procedural termination and why multiple renewal options—online, phone, and mail—matter. It also explains what proper notices should include and what to do when the information appears incorrect.

The script applies clear objectives, concise chunking, appropriate reading levels, and step-by-step calls to action. The production uses high-contrast visuals, open captions, and localization-ready assets. I also supplied a distribution kit so partners could brief communities and share the resource across channels.
